In a world where people are more mobile and transient than ever, we feel the unusual longevity of our workforce only adds to our corporate uniqueness. The average BioTek employee’s length of service is greater than 10 years. Among our Vermont workforce it's even higher at over 11.5 years. Of those Vermonters, 24% have been here 20 or more years! We feel this longevity demonstrates not only the loyalty and dedication of our employees, but also their view of BioTek as an integral part of their lives – like a family. It's difficult to convey in words the feeling that employees have about working at BioTek, but most agree it's like no other company they've worked for.

Why did you decide to join the BioTek team?
BioTek was my third job in the Information Technology field. My first job out of college was with Computer Services of Vermont traveling to companies to work on technology issues and projects. BioTek was one of CSV's customers so I was familiar with how the company treats its employees. When an IT job presented itself, I applied.

What makes BioTek a great place to work?
I came to work for the people and piece of mind the company presented, but I stayed because of the diversity of work and because I learn something new every day. Many of the people I work with have been with the company for years.

What makes BioTek different from other employers?
The employees and the company attitude make the difference.  Without the company’s concern and care for its employees there would be far less employees that have multiple year’s experience.  Without those employees the company would be a much different place to work.

What do you like best about your job?
I am constantly challenged with new technology and new tasks to complete.  There is not a day where I do not learn something new.  This keeps my job fresh and interesting.

Why do you enjoy living and working in Vermont?
I am a native Vermonter and my family has been for generations. I grew up on a farm in Vermont and have not lived anywhere else. Vermont is the only place that feels like home.

Years with BioTek: 23
Favorite Pastime: Mostly outdoor activities with family and Friends (Hiking, Biking, Skiing). For a little more excitement I love going to NYC for a nice dining and nightlife experience.

Why did you decide to join the BioTek team?
During College I interned at a very large company and decided that I would not be content with having a infinitesimal role in the success of the business. When I interviewed with BioTek 23 years ago, I immediately realized the company would offer me the opportunity to make a significant difference and my contributions would be visible and easily measurable.

What makes BioTek a great place to work?
I like and respect the people I work with and I like the products design and produce.

What makes BioTek different from other employers?
BioTek as a business is more agile than our competitors and has the freedom to make decisions that support long term goals

What do you like best about your job?
I enjoy seeing my ideas help make the company successful on a global scale.

Why do you enjoy living and working in Vermont?
There is no perfect place to live but Vermont is very near the top for those who can find a good paying job and are raising a family.

It's a relaxed, but professional workplace. People here really enjoy their jobs and everyone takes pride in their work and in making BioTek successful.

Why did you decide to join the BioTek team?
I joined the BioTek team because of my interest in this company. Gene Company, the biggest dealer of BioTek in China, is my former employer. My first product support job was training the customer to use Gen5 software to control the Synergy HT. From then on I learned more about BioTek products and fell in love with them. When BioTek China invited me to join I felt so lucky to get a job I truly love to do.

What makes BioTek a great place to work?
I always hear people saying, “This is our BioTek”. I love to work with colleagues who also feel like family.

What makes BioTek different from other employers?
Everyone can express themselves freely. Everyone is respected as if they are the owner of the company. Everyone can feel the friendly atmosphere and work in a team of people. These are all different experiences you can get in BioTek.

What do you like best about your job?
New products we are releasing. I have enough confidence to introduce BioTek products to the customer. We have the best microplate instruments in the world. BioTek is a very energetic company. I like to work to help BioTek become a stronger company.
