Automated Image Analysis of Biovolume Using Robotics

Biovolume is the measure of cubic space of an object, and is one way to investigate biological differences between 3-D samples. A dictydium model organism was used to demonstrate how Gen5 image analysis software can generate physical dimensions required to calculate ellipsoid biovolume of the organism fruiting body. Robotics enabled multiple specimen microscopy slide imaging without manual intervention.
